PEX Repipe
Pex pipe is a new alternative to copper pipe. It is made out of polyethylene and is very durable. On average the cost to repipe with pex is less and you can enjoy the same benefits. Repiping: Quick Answers
Repiping replaces the water supply pipes in a building, either throughout the house or in the sections that are failing. Old galvanized steel or leaking copper is removed from service and new copper or PEX lines are run to every fixture, restoring water pressure and ending repeated leaks.
How do I know if my house needs repiping?
Frequent leaks, low water pressure, rusty or discolored water, water that tastes metallic, and visible corrosion on exposed pipes are the usual signs. Homes that still have original galvanized steel piping are the most common candidates.
What pipe materials are used for repiping?
Copper and PEX are the two standard choices. Copper is rigid, long proven and handles heat well. PEX is a flexible plastic tubing that needs fewer fittings, goes in faster and resists scale and corrosion. Your plumber can explain which suits your home and local code.
How long does a whole-house repipe take?
Most single-family homes take a few days for the plumbing work itself, followed by wall and ceiling patching. Water is normally restored at the end of each working day, so the home stays livable throughout.
Do walls have to be opened to repipe a house?
Some small, planned openings are needed to reach the old lines and run the new ones, usually behind fixtures and at key junctions. Flexible PEX reduces how many are required. The openings are patched after the new system is tested.
Will repiping improve my water pressure?
Usually yes. Old galvanized pipes narrow on the inside as they corrode and fill with scale, which chokes flow. New full-diameter lines restore pressure and volume at every fixture.

Andy is our go-to plumber. He always does an excellent job and his prices are very good. Today I gave him too much money and he counted it and handed back the overpayment. I highly recommend him.Posted on Google![]()

Hello everyone! I'm here to let you know that if you're in need of a plumber then I recommend Rooter flusher and drains π My kitchen sink got clogged Saturday night due to buildup. Unfortunately Sunday morning the sinks were still filled up with nasty water and the smell of sewer started to come up π I was worried that we weren't going to find a plumber during the weekend but my husband found this company and was able to make an appointment in the afternoon with Iggy Perez. Thank God and Iggy that he was able to fix it π He did an amazing job and was super fast ππ I recommend Rooter flusher plumbing & drains to everyone πPosted on Google![]()
